Doris Hines was the Nebraska Student Nurse of the Year in 1963 and the Missouri League of Nursing Outstanding Nurse of the Year in 1993.

This piece was commissioned to commemorate her service and is on display in the atrium of the Heartland Hospital in St. Joseph, MO.
